How to avoid the Mark of the Beast - Paul Myers

"Sunday Law" is the key event in end-time prophecy. EGW writings predict a time when civil governments, particularly in the United States, will enact laws enforcing Sunday observance, thereby elevating a "spurious sabbath" over the true Sabbath (the seventh-day Sabbath, Saturday) as outlined in the Ten Commandments.

Here are the key aspects of EGW's teachings on the coming Sunday Law:

A Test of Loyalty: EGW viewed the enforcement of Sunday observance as the "great test" for God's people in the last days. It would differentiate between those who obey God's law (including the seventh-day Sabbath) and those who bow to human authority.

Union of Church and State: She prophesied that Protestant churches in the United States would unite with the state to enforce their dogmas, specifically Sunday observance, thus forming an "image to the beast" (Revelation 13). This union would lead to the suppression of religious liberty.

Persecution of Sabbath-Keepers: Those who refuse to honor Sunday and continue to observe the seventh-day Sabbath would face persecution, including fines, imprisonment, and social ostracism. They would be accused of disloyalty to the government and of disrupting society.

Satan's Deception: EGW believed that Satan would be the master manipulator behind this movement, making people believe that calamities and societal problems are a result of Sunday-breaking, thereby pressuring influential men to enforce Sunday laws to appease God's wrath.

The "Loud Cry": The enactment of the Sunday law would trigger the "Loud Cry" of Revelation 18, a final powerful proclamation of truth by God's people, revealing Babylon's apostasy and calling people to come out of it.
