The story of Bartimaeus, the blind beggar, is a powerful example of faith and persistence in the Bible. It is found in Mark 10:46-52.
Bartimaeus' Encounter with Jesus
- Bartimaeus was blind and sat by the roadside begging near Jericho.
- When he heard that Jesus was passing by, he cried out, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
- The crowd rebuked him, telling him to be quiet, but he shouted even louder.
- Jesus stopped and called him forward, asking, "What do you want me to do for you?"
- Bartimaeus responded, "Rabbi, I want to see."
- Jesus said, "Go, your faith has healed you." Immediately, Bartimaeus received his sight and followed Jesus.
