Genesis 22, God says to Abraham:
“Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah…”
This is the first time the word love appears in the Bible—and it’s in the context of a father being asked to sacrifice his beloved son. That alone speaks volumes..
Emotional Bond: Isaac was the child of promise, born to Abraham and Sarah in their old age. Abraham had waited decades for him.
Spiritual Trust: Abraham’s willingness to obey God—even to the point of sacrificing Isaac—reveals a love that trusts God’s plan above all. Hebrews 11:19 says Abraham believed God could raise Isaac from the dead.
